‘One Village, One Product’ sets out local products at SEAG

Aimed at promoting and finding new markets, agricultural and industrial products were showcased during the SEA Games at the Morodok Techo Stadium.

More than 200 locally produced items have been displayed at stalls inside the stadium complex, said Suong Noy, secretary-general of the national committee for the promotion of One Village, One Product.

The committee organised an exhibition of agriculture community products for the 10-day SEA Games, with more than 20 booths and 45 enterprises participating and bringing in 200 products.

The main goal is to make all tourists aware of Cambodian products, export promotion and job creation, he said.

“The product shown at the SEA Games is to promote, as well as to
show quality products to national and international tourists,” Noy said.

He encouraged all participants to sell their products honestly and responsibly and expressed pride in the quality of Cambodia’s production chains.

“In the future, One Village, One Product movement’s members’ products will be more widely known and sold,” he said.

The Southeast Asian (SEA) Games is hosted in Cambodia for the first time in 64 years. Small and medium enterprises accounted for about 90 percent of the total enterprises and accounted for 58 percent of GDP and more than 70 percent of employment.

Prime Minister Hun Sen said that small and medium enterprises (SME) played an important role in boosting economic growth in Cambodia, generating jobs for people, and contributing to poverty reduction.
