Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot and Battambang remain the most visited destinations

The cultural province of Siem Reap, the coastal provinces of Preah Sihanouk and Kampot, and Battambang province, the rice bowl of Cambodia, remain the most attractive destinations for domestic tourists during the third weekend of August.

According to a report of the Ministry of Tourism, Siem Reap received 33,968 tourists, while Preah Sihanouk, Kampot and Battambang attracted 31,815, 28,040 and 20,790 visitors respectively.

For the third weekend of August, the source added, Cambodia registered a total of 222,853 tourists, of them 200,645 were Cambodians and 22,208 were internal foreign tourists.

The total number of visitors saw a decrease of 4.73 percent compared to the previous weekend, the report underlined, explaining that this slight drop was due to weather conditions. AKP-C.Nika
