GOLFING IN CAMBODIA

golfing in cambodia

In recent years, Cambodia has emerged to become a sparkling contender among SE Asia top golf holiday destinations.

There are many golf courses in Cambodia; all of which are of international standards and many more are being developed across the country. To say the least, Cambodia was regular host to the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open golf tournament for four consecutive years from 2007 to 2010.

One of the favourite courses, the Angkor Golf Resort, designed by celebrated six-time winner Nick Faldo, is emerging not only to be the finest in Cambodia, but one of the best in the Asia-Pacific region. This 18-hole course is a challenging 7279 yards, par 72 that is built to challenge all levels of golfers and has been well rated by the US PGA.

With the world becoming virtually seamless especially in the S.E. Asia region, businesses are fast expanding across borders, and countries like Cambodia do enjoy its fair share of high level executives flocking to its shores. Besides work, the demand for a good round of golf is seldom out of any high flyer’s agenda.

In this direction, the capital city of Phnom Penh, the business hub of the nation and Siem Reap, home to the ancient temples, receive the most visitors and needless to say, you’ll find golf resorts in both these locations.

The golf courses in Cambodia are attracting many players and enthusiasts from all over the world and many tour packages actually include golf to a point where the country is fast earning the reputation of a great Golf Destination.

Almost every decision on a golf holiday destination is motivated by the potentials of having other interesting tour opportunities and Cambodia has a whole lot of wonderful cultural sites to offer. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of the magnificent Angkor Wat in Siem Reap is itself a great contributing factor, enhancing Cambodia as a popular golf destination.
